| Cairo ICT 2008 ready to kick off its 12th round
The annual four day event held at the Cairo International Conference Center has already filled 90% of the total exhibition space for this year, with expectations to finish sales very shortly. The event is held under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, the support of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and with large multinational and local sponsors lead by Telecom Egypt. 'Multinational exhibitors recognize the importance of attending Cairo ICT, which explains the growth in this sector each year,' said Ossama Kamal, managing director of TradeFairs International, the organizer of Cairo ICT. Delegations from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates are participating in the exhibition this year in an initiative to boost cooperation between the ICT community in those countries and Egypt.

Furthermore, would he expect Muslim countries to adopt our laws so that we, a minority of Christians feel more at home there? I think not. This has nothing to do with Islamaphobia, it has to do with our ability to stand up for our own Western, Christian culture, ideals and law. If this is not good enough for our Muslim residents then they need to find somewhere else to live. Britain for centuries has been seen as a country with one of the finest legal systems in the world - what exactly are we doing even thinking of compromising it? I would suggest the Archbishop does a bit of research on the implications of Sharia law for women specifically in the areas of marriage and property, before he welcomes it so whole-heartedly. .

Pakistan blocks YouTube for 'blasphemous' content: officials
An inter-ministerial committee has decided to block YouTube because it contained "blasphemous content, videos and documents," a government official told AFP. "The site will remain blocked till further orders," he said. Other officials said the site had been blocked because it contained controversial sketches of the Prophet Mohammed which were republished by Danish newspapers earlier this month. One major service provider, Micronet, said in an email to subscribers that the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority had directed all ISPs to block access to YouTube "for containing blasphemous web content/movies." "Meanwhile Internet users can write to YouTube.com to remove the objectionable web content/movies because this removal would enable the authorities to order un-blocking of this website," the email said.
Vaux's swifts may lose their favorite Monroe chimney
Imagine about 5,000 Vaux's swifts circling and circling just before dark. By the time darkness falls, they're ready to settle in for the night, dramatically swirling down into one Monroe chimney.
The chimney works fine for the roosting swifts, who traditionally gathered in hollow old-growth snags. Thousands will meet at traditional stopover locations during spring and fall migration to accumulate fat reserves.
Where once there were countless old-growth snags, most in the Monroe area have been cut down, and the swifts have dropped in numbers. Now the swifts' favorite local chimney, the old, tall brick one at Frank Wagner Junior Elementary School in Monroe, may be torn down for safety reasons.
The smallest swift in North America visits Monroe twice a year, at the end of April and peaking in mid- to late-May; and beginning in mid-August and peaking in mid-September.

For the past decade, he has operated an online travel agency that specializes in selling trips to Cuba to various European nationals. Marshall operated a number of Cuban-specific web sites, including several that focused specifically on the literary and historical aspects of Cuba, and maintained them in English, French, and Spanish.
