California Avenue sculpture concept unveiled
City staff members met Thursday morning with sculptor Bruce Beasley and California Avenue leaders to discuss plans to replace an aging fountain with a tall granite sculpture and benches. Beasley earlier released conceptual images of his proposed sculpture -- which is similar to an earlier proposal he made for a replacement fountain. City officials have said the estimated $150,000 it would take to redo the plumbing for the fountain is too high.
