| TaylorMade-adidas Commercial Shoot
Monday was one of the most remarkable days I've seen in my years of covering golf. I spent the day at Mountain Gate GC in Los Angeles where TaylorMade-adidas had rented out the course to complete a wide array of work for its advertisements. There were photo shoots, television shoots and internet tapings for a number of different products. A stable of TaylorMade pros were on hand to pose and smile and hit shots for the cameras. They were moved from position to position to position through a long day. That included Mike Weir, Jason Day, Justin Rose, Retief Goosen, Sergio Garcia and Sean O'Hair. (My timing wasn't great on this one – Natalie Gulbis and Paula Creamer were here a day earlier.) I drove around with Richard "not a guru" Sullivan of the Canadian TM office and as we sped along, we saw Goosen taping something for the internet, then O'Hair doing a television commercial for the ball.

At cornerback, junior Kendrick Harper could take on a bigger role. He's started a few games but battled injuries. Junior college transfer Nathan D'Cunha is expected to move in for Collins. too. Highly touted JUCO transfer Jocques Crawford is leading candidate at running back. ------ Kentucky (8-5) Practice starts: March 26. Spring game: April 19. Job openings: Quarterback Andre Woodson figures to be a first-day pick in the NFL draft, and his departure creates the biggest hole for the back-to-back Music City Bowl champions. Top candidates for the starting QB job include speedster Curtis Pulley, who missed last season for academic reasons, and sophomore Mike Hartline, Woodson's backup last year. Also gone is running back Rafael Little, but the Wildcats have plenty of depth there, with Tony Dixon, Derrick Locke and Alfonso Smith all returning.

CHICAGO, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Advanced Life Sciences Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADLS) , today announced positive results from Trial CL-05, the second of two pivotal phase III clinical trials designed to assess the safety and effectiveness of cethromycin, a novel once-a-day oral antibiotic for the treatment of mild-to-moderate community acquired pneumonia (CAP), the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The primary efficacy endpoint of statistical non-inferiority in the clinical cure rate at the test-of-cure visit was achieved. Scientology-based organization campaigns against psychiatry
The wellbeing of the children in the establishment was under threat because the education process was based on the principles of Scientology," the municipality said. Germany has Scientology under close surveillance for good reason: "The Muenster judges found that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution was within its authority to keep Scientologists under observation. In the statement announcing the verdict, the court said that there were "numerous indications" that the Scientology organization promoted a form of society "in which central constitutional values such as the dignity of mankind and the right to equal treatment would be suspended or restricted." "In particular, there is the suspicion that in a scientological society only Scientologists would enjoy civil rights," the court decided.
Brooks Global-Lok Sets a New Quality Standard in Security Seals
LIVINGSTON, N.J., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Over the past two years, E.J. Brooks has been conducting market research as part of its new product development initiative to further improve the performance and feature levels of mechanical cable seals that are used in cross border and intermodal use around the world. Being the only security seal manufacturer that is a validated member of C-TPAT as well as a strong believer in independent testing by a third party ISO 17712 accredited lab, global compliancy is Brooks number one objective. However, the logistics community raised other issues that were considered in product design and we are now announcing a breakthrough in mechanical cross border security seal protection. E.J. Brooks is proud to announce the introduction of the Global-Lok, a high security cable seal that is not only ISO 17712 compliant, but exceeds the ISO 17712 required minimum tensile strength level by 82% with over 4,000 lbs of pressure necessary to pull it apart.
Minister dismisses more tax power for Holyrood
Launching the commission last year, Ms Alexander proposed significant new powers for Scotland to set levels of some taxes and to be assigned a share of other taxes set in London. However, when it was suggested to Mr Cairns that he was not keen on giving more tax powers to the Scottish Parliament and that it was up to Holyrood to make the case, he replied: "Yes. The government's position is, is that we think the current fiscal arrangements benefit Scotland, that there are stable, transparent increases in public spending in Scotland. There is no case for the massive restructuring of that. In any case, the Scottish Parliament has powers to levy additional taxes if they think that's what they need and they haven't used them. He added: "I want to reframe this argument.

Today, Kidd Island Bay is filling up with sediment from all the subdivisions. But happily, no one has figured out how to put a house on Kidd Island. In the old days, the few brave souls who lived on the bay could skate across the lake to the town movie theater. The theater is gone now, and the lake doesn't freeze like it used to, so everyone has a satellite dish. As a Camp Fire Girl, my wife used to earn beads by making the half-mile swim to Kidd Island and back from Camp Neewahlu. The camp closed a few years ago. The Camp Fire Girls sold it for $2 million to former NYPD Blue star Dennis Franz, confirming everybody's suspicion that no matter what Giuliani says, anybody who cared that much about crime would leave New York City and move to Idaho. Giuliani raised $50-100,000 in Coeur d'Alene.
Ubuntu backer seeks open-source collaboration
Ubuntu Linux backer Canonical has launched a beta version of its Launchpad service, part of an effort to make open-source programming methods a better match for Microsoft. Launchpad is a website that provides a foundation for Ubuntu's co-operative programming projects, with features for tracking bugs, managing source code repositories and planning new features. Canonical chief executive Mark Shuttleworth believes broader use could help marshal free and open-source software forces more effectively against Microsoft. "Microsoft has an efficient core infrastructure that allows developers from one part of the company to connect with a developer on another," Shuttleworth said in an interview after the move last week. "In a free software world, if we want to match that, we have to crank up the level of collaboration." Launchpad was founded to run the Ubuntu project, but it's now open to other projects.
Ask AP: Superdelegates, Windy Landings
Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama know who the superdelegates are — their campaigns probably have them on speed dial. But where could a curious voter find a complete list of these party leaders and elected officials — the people who, in the end, may play a decisive role in determining the Democratic presidential nominee? That's one of the four questions being answered in this week's "Ask AP," a weekly Q&A column where AP journalists respond to readers' questions about the news. If you have your own news-related question that you'd like to see answered by an AP reporter or editor, send it to newsquestions@ap.org, with "Ask AP" in the subject line. Last year's 2-0 loss to UNH on March 3 came in the semi-final game of the Hockey East Tournament.
