YouTube announced yesterday that it had increased the size limit for videos to 1 GB, and also introduced new software that allows users to simultaneously upload multiple videos. Users may still opt to upload their videos to the site through the browser form if they do not wish to put a piece of YouTube software on their hard drives, or in the case of Mac users, if the software isn't supported at all. .

Senior Olympics draw new friends to center
The competition wasn't too fierce among the participants, who meet most weekdays at the center. There, they socialize, play games and share lunch. "It's good for them to make new friends," said Jessica Medina, 17, who volunteered to help with this week's games. Medina is a student at the center who takes classes to earn a GED. The brightly painted center at the corners of Ocotillo Road and 54th Avenue in downtown Glendale has become a gathering place for all ages. When Kryssa Bowman agreed to cater this weekend's Northern Rockies Bioneers Conference, she had a lofty goal: Cook all the meals with ingredients grown or made within 100 miles of Bozeman. “I love challenges, so I was like, 'Let's make it work, even if I have to do just salad and meat,'" said Bowman, owner of Thyme Savors, a personal chef service. “The local farmers and ranchers, they deserve to have our business."Other than the salt and pepper, she has managed to accomplish her goal, creating recipes for four different meals that will feed 325 people each. In addition to being home grown, all of the food will be pesticide free and organic.Accomplishing that feat wasn't easy. Bowman had to design the menus based on ingredients she knew she could find in the area.She picked plums and apples from local gardens and a neighbor's yard.

Science Engineer Envisions Subcutaneous Display Powered by Blood
For many researchers and scientists, the Holy Grail when it comes to power for mobile electronics and other devices is to harness the natural energy of our bodies rather than relying on batteries. An engineer named Jim Mielke has invented a display that is wireless and powered by blood. The display would be implanted into the body between the skin and the muscle as a tight roll. According to Mielke the roll would then unfurl and position itself between muscle and the skin. Once unfurled, the display would get its power from the blood. Specifically a small fuel cell would have leads hooked up to an artery and a vein allowing for blood to flow through a blood fuel cell that converts the oxygen and glucose in the blood into electricity. The display is currently only a concept and was designed for the Core77 Greener Gadgets Design Competition. It has top and bottom display surfaces with matching matrixes of field-producing pixels.
